Privacy and Data on This Site
The calculators on this site run in your browser, and the numbers you type into them are never sent to a server here.
Calculators run in your browser
The position-size and margin calculators on this site run in your browser, and the lot size, price or balance you enter is never sent to a server here. The arithmetic happens on your device, so the figures you are testing stay with you.
That design is deliberate: a reader working out what a 0.10-lot gold position needs in margin should not have to hand that number to a website. Nothing you type into a calculator is stored by us or attached to a profile.
Traffic counts and local storage
We keep only aggregate traffic counts, such as how many times a page was opened, and we do not build reader profiles from them. There is no account on this site, no login and no newsletter list holding your details.
Local storage in your browser holds your own preferences, such as a setting you chose on a calculator, and it stays on your device. Clearing your browser storage removes it, and the site still works.
How long anything is kept and what deletes it
Local preferences and calculator inputs are kept in your browser until you clear your browser data or they expire. The site does not keep a copy on its servers. Analytics data is kept by the analytics provider for a period set in its policy, typically a limited number of months, after which it is aggregated or deleted. Server logs held by the hosting provider are kept for a short period for security and then deleted. No data is kept indefinitely by this site.
What deletes the data is either your action or an automatic expiry. Clearing your browser cookies and site data deletes local preferences and any locally saved calculator inputs. The analytics provider deletes or aggregates visit data according to its retention schedule. The hosting provider rotates and deletes server logs on a fixed cycle. The site itself does not have a separate database of reader data to delete, because it does not collect one.
If you request deletion of analytics data, the site will forward the request to the analytics provider where possible, but the provider's policy governs the final deletion. If you request deletion of local data, the site will explain how to clear it in your browser, since the site cannot reach into your browser to delete it for you. Affiliate tracking cookies are set by the broker and are deleted according to the broker's policy, not this site's.
Affiliate tracking stated plainly
This site uses affiliate links to brokers, including FxPro. When you click a broker link and open an account, the broker may pay this site a referral fee. That fee does not change what you pay the broker, and it does not affect the information or calculators on this site. The tracking works through a cookie or a parameter in the link that tells the broker which site sent you. It does not track your trading results or your account balance.
The affiliate tracking records only that a visit came from this site and, in some cases, which page the link was on. It does not record your name, your mobile money number, or the amount you deposit. The broker sets its own cookies for this purpose, and those cookies are governed by the broker's privacy policy, not this one. You can avoid affiliate tracking by typing the broker's address directly into your browser instead of clicking a link.
No affiliate relationship changes the editorial content. The site does not rank brokers by how much they pay, and it does not hide risks to encourage sign-ups. The regulator caveat for Ghana applies to any broker you consider: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Ghana licensed operators list. Affiliate fees are one way the site is funded, but they are not a recommendation to trade.
The rights a reader has and how to use them
As a reader in Ghana, you have the right to ask what personal data this site holds about you, to request a copy, to ask for correction, and to ask for deletion. Because the site does not hold accounts or names, in most cases the only data is the analytics identifier and any local preferences in your browser. You can exercise these rights by contacting the site through the contact details published on the site. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
To use these rights, send a request describing what you want: access, correction, or deletion. If the request concerns analytics data, the site will explain what it can and cannot retrieve, because the analytics provider holds that data under its own policy. If the request concerns local preferences, you can clear them yourself through your browser settings. The site will respond within a reasonable time and will explain any legal reason it cannot comply with a request.
You also have the right to object to analytics cookies by blocking them in your browser. You have the right to avoid affiliate tracking by not clicking broker links. You have the right to use the calculators without providing any personal information. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you can raise the matter with the site first, and you may also have recourse under Ghana's data protection law. The site will cooperate with any lawful request from a competent authority.
Third parties involved
The third parties involved are the analytics provider, the broker whose links appear on the site, and the platform that hosts the site. The analytics provider receives a random identifier and page information as described in the cookies section. The broker receives the fact that you clicked a link from this site if you follow one. The hosting provider processes standard server logs, which may include your IP address, for security and performance. No other third parties receive data from this site.
Each third party has its own privacy policy that governs what it does with data it receives. The broker, FxPro, is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA, and its policy covers any account you open. The analytics provider's policy covers the visit data it collects. The hosting provider's policy covers server logs. This site does not control those policies, so you should read them if you want to know how those parties handle data.
The site does not share your calculator inputs with any third party. It does not sell data to third parties. It does not use third-party advertising networks. The only data that leaves your browser to a third party is the analytics visit data and, if you click a broker link, the referral information. If you use MTN Mobile Money to fund a broker account, that transaction is between you and the broker and is not visible to this site.
Cookies and what each kind is for
Cookies on this site fall into three kinds: essential, preference, and analytics. Essential cookies keep the site working, such as remembering that you have accepted the cookie notice. Preference cookies remember your chosen currency display and any calculator settings you have saved locally. Analytics cookies help count visits and see which pages are used, but they are set in a way that does not identify you personally. No advertising cookies are set by this site.
Each kind has a specific job. The essential cookie is a small text file that expires when you close your browser or after a short period. The preference cookie lasts longer, typically until you clear your browser data, so your settings persist. The analytics cookie is set by a third-party service and records a random identifier, the page visited, and the time. It does not record the numbers you type into calculators or any personal details.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working, such as remembering your cookie choice. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect the calculators. The site does not use cookies to build a profile of you for advertising, and it does not sell cookie data to anyone. If you clear your browser cookies, your preferences will be reset and you will see the cookie notice again.
Brokers set their own cookies
When you follow a link from this site to a broker, the broker sets its own cookies and handles your data under its own policy. That policy is the one that governs your account, your documents and your deposits, not this page.
Read the broker's privacy and cookie terms before you open an account, and note that funding through MTN Mobile Money creates a record with the broker and the mobile money operator as well. FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Ghana licensed operators list.
What this site stores and what it does not
This site stores only the preferences you set in your browser and the basic technical data needed to serve pages. That means your chosen currency, any calculator inputs you save locally, and a small number of cookies described below. It does not store your name, email address, phone number, MTN Mobile Money details, or any trading account credentials unless you deliberately send them to us. There is no account system, so there is no profile of you held on a server.
The site does not store the numbers you type into the gold calculators. Those values stay in your browser and are cleared when you close the tab or clear your browser data. It also does not store your IP address in a way that identifies you, and it does not keep a history of the pages you visit across sessions. Any data that does leave your browser is limited to what is described in the analytics and third-party sections below.
What the site does not store is any financial record. It does not keep a log of your trades, your deposits, your mobile money transactions, or your broker account balance. If you fund a broker account through MTN Mobile Money, that transaction happens entirely between you and the broker, not on this site. The site is a learning and calculation tool, not a record-keeping service, so you should keep your own records of any trading activity.
